Arts In Medicine
The Floyd
Arts in Medicine program is an opportunity for local
musicians, artists and craftmakers to share their talents with patients
at Floyd Medical Center.
Heyman HospiceCare at Floyd
Floyd's hospice volunteers provide an extra special touch of care for families facing end-of-life issues. Their roles include assisting with clerical duties, housekeeping and providing respite care.
First Steps/Healthy Families
The First Steps and Healthy Families programs rely on volunteers to help guide young families of our community who need a little extra assistance following the birth of a baby. These volunteers provide support to mothers and families dealing with the emotional stress of caring for a new baby.
Healthcare Foundation
Floyd Healthcare Foundation helps provide Floyd, a nonprofit health care system, with financial support. Foundation volunteers help continue the existence
of community programs and services.
Medical Explorers
The Medical Explorers program provides young people with the experiences they need to make educated decisions about their future careers. The program matches professionals and program resources to the interests of young people in the community.
This program is designed for individuals ages 14-20. All 14 year olds must have completed the eighth-grade prior to joining.
Youth Volunteers
Our Youth Volunteer program provides middle school youths the opportunity to be a part of the medical environment. Youth Volunteers share a variety of tasks that include, but are not limited to, assistance with clerical work and escorting and greeting patients and their families.
Applications for Youth Volunteers should be submitted by May 1, 2009. To submit an application or to learn more contact the Floyd Volunteer department at 706.509.5109 or email.
