A deep compassion for others and an eduring commitment to community affairs have long characterized the efforts of Lyons and Jo Heyman.

The Heymans made a generous provision for Floyd's hospice program through a Charitable Remainder Trust to Floyd Health Care Foundation. Their gift was the largest single contribution ever received by the foundation and supports a program that touches almost everyone in our community. In gratitude for this meaningful gift, Floyd renamed the Community HospiceCare program in honor of the Heyman family.

The Heyman's motivation was two-fold: their personal experience with the hospice program and a desire to make a gift to the community that would continue in perpetuity.

Now, their family's legacy of compassion for others continues in the community as patients and their families receive quality care and emotional support through Heyman HospiceCare at Floyd.
