Throughout your three years as a resident, you will have the opportunity to participate in our specialty rotations. These elective rotations will prepare you for a concentration in a certain area of family medicine.

Third World Medical Missions
Gain medical experience while helping the impoverished receive the medical care they need. This rotation is a great way to share your skills and knowledge for a good cause.

Sports Medicine
Residents interested in sports medicine can work closely with our sports medicine program. In addition to required rotation in sports medicine, residents have the opportunity to be a clinic physician for one of our local colleges or high school sports team.

Rural Medicine
Our Family Medicine Residency program operates the Floyd County Clinic. By working at the clinic residents have the opportunity to learn about the health care needs of a rural community

Urgent Care
The network of Floyd Urgent Care facilities offers an opportunity for additional training in minor emergencies and illnesses. Our five locations are open extended hours which makes a a great opportunity for moonlighting.
